Osco village was founded in 1870 on forty acres of land owned by Orion E. Page, an early settler. The first house in the village was built in 1871 by G.P. Woodworth and Samuel Smith. The first settler of the township was Israel Crocker, who arrived in 1838 and who introduced the first sheep into Henry County.
